 Who are LBBAC?

Lewisham Borough Business Against Crime (LBBAC) is an award winning crime reduction initiative - holders of the prestigeous 'Safer Business Award' from The Association of Business Crime Partnerships (ABCP).  Winners of National awards for Excellence in 'Promoting Community Safety' and Innovation in 'Business Crime Reduction'.

LBBAC is a not for profit business run and directed by its members and a representative Steering Group from across business sectors in the London borough of Lewisham.

LBBAC enables any trade or service provider in the borough of Lewisham, to work together & in partnership with Police, Local Authority and other key agencies to reduce 'business crime' and make Lewisham borough a safer place  - to be in business, to work, to live and to visit.

LBBAC can help with crime prevention advice and support to the business community in the borough of Lewisham.

We help tackle known, persistent & prolific offenders head on. We supply business link radios; we share information, intelligence and offender photographs; we send out 'trend' and specific alerts. We offer training opportunities and host security forums for those who want to work together to keep crime out.     We help businesses work 'smarter' to keep crime and offenders out.  We manage a barring scheme -'Banned from one, banned from all'.

LBBAC  is a business - 'by business, for business' - our policies and operational decisions are made by the Board of Management, which is made up from our Members.

We work with our partners, such as police & local authority, not for them.  We work together and in partnership to make the trading environment safer for everyone - except offenders!

The aims of the partnership are to:

  • Prevent and detect business crime
  • Deter and disrupt offenders
  • Reduce the fear of crime
  • Reduce crime, anti-social behaviour, violence and disorder
  • Help in the apprehension and prosecution of offenders
  • Strengthen partnership working between the business community, police, the council and other stakeholders
  • Provide a strong voice for business in Lewisham
  • Help make the borough of Lewisham safer for traders & customers.

'an attack is a strong possibility'

     What should you do?

You should always remain alert to the danger of terrorism, look out for suspicious bags on public transport or any other potential signs of terrorist activity you may encounter.

But you should not let the fear of terrorism stop you from going about your day-to-day life as normal. Your risk of being caught in a terrorist attack is very low.
